We’ve seen several lone wolves lately. Possibly driven away by alphas as mating season reaches peak.
Was this the Blackie mentioned in Medicine of the Wolf?
So beautiful. Blackie seems a bit unnerved by the ravens.
This one is also dated 2017-is something wrong with my iPad?
These videos are from 2 years ago and they are being sent out again (much to our delight!) This is the third time they have appeared. You should see 2019 somewhere on the screen.
BEAUTIFUL WOLF….LOVELY SCENERY. Thanks ! @irene.
So handsome…
Beautiful Blackie
Such an amazing view!
He/she is a beauty! Thanks for the great clip.
Glad the wolf got something to nourish him and his delight that the crows quickly dispersed at his appearance. Great scene that follows the time when he peeks behind the tree to see the crowd of crows celebrating their feast.
Wow! That was really up close and personal….a beautiful wolf.
Thank you Jim again I’m wondering if the meal was a fellow wolf… It almost looks like a paw? Did the wounded wolf pass away giving life to this pup with her meat?
Is that an eagle Atop The birch tree watching?
Grateful to be able to glimpse this world each day thanks to you, Jim. Such a beautiful creature, but sad to see such a majestic being looking so frightened. Even looks like he’s looking up in the air for helicopters.
Love the natural sounds and beautiful Blackie.
Awesome!!!
Beautiful struggle.
wow; Thank you
Thanks again Jim for the daily reminder that nature is beautiful and difficult.
His coat is a beautiful color and his eyes very soulful.
Blackie looks young, and hungry.
Blackie looks young, and hungry.
Just amazing
Just amazing
When I was a kid in Deerwood, MN they were only spoken of by my Aunt and Uncle to wind me up for the run through the woods home, a mere 150 yards or so of terrifying imagination at work. Now I see they are ranging in the whole region. How cool is that.
where did the other carcass go?
What gorgeous colouring Blackie has.
Thank you.
Pauvre loup, il arrive un peu à la fin du festin
Merci pour ce très beau moment dans la nature !!
Sadly, this year Minnesota wolves are in the crosshairs again, up against a host of threats to their current federal protections – protections that can be removed with the stroke of a pen. And when wolf populations are harmed, so is the ecological balance of Minnesota. Our state senators and representatives must hear our voices now – louder than ever – on behalf of our Minnesota wolves and their packs. A message to me from Howling for Wolves, Howling For Wolves, Hopkins, MN 55343
Also US Senators Franken and Klobuchar. As of a couple weeks ago, Klobuchar was signed on as a co-sponsor of a bill that would de-list the Gray Wolf. Her office number in the Twin Cities is 888-224-9043!
Beautiful
I’ve missed something……when did Blackie die?
He was shot and killed by a hunter. It happened a while ago.
Such a beautiful, confident wolf. He appears intent on his dinner, although cautious as he views his surroundings. Stunning setting and brings serenity to my soul.
R.I P Blackie <3
So beautiful…coloring is gorgeous. Thanks Jim.
Love Blackie!
What a magnificent creature. Love those beautiful eyes.
LEVEZ-VOUS QUE JE M’Y METTE;……..MERVEILLEUSE PHOTO…..
I wish my Mom could have seen these.
I’m impressed. One little wolf managed to spook those ravens to desert their meal!!!! He/she seemed just as wary; yet wasn’t deterred by the flock.
Fantastic photography, as always. Thank you.
Beautiful scenery and beautiful wolf!
We will never forget. Wild is pure!
We must continue to protect this beautiful animal for the indispensable role they play in balancing our ecosystem; while significantly adding to the mystique and wonder of Minnesota’s uniquely pristine “Up North” – our precious natural lands. Thank you, Jim. Blackie forever in our hearts.
beautiful, thank you
So pretty!
Stunning wolf!
He was truly, magnificent!! Thank you.
I know this is a tough one for Mr Brandenburg. RIP Blackie.
