Don’t worry there’s plenty for everyone.

  • So happy to see them getting nourishment in this bitter cold, thanks for all your posts Jim. I so enjoy them

Just a thought….I noticed the wolf off to the right scratching his hind quarters and it occurred to me, “Fleas will live through the apocalypse!” ;-)

  • Are you in the Boundary Waters? Beautiful pictures.

  • When Alpha and beta eat it ensures the strength of the whole family!

  • must have made a kill on a lake,,, hear them all the time on the lake, howling

  • Thank you

I have happened upon enough poaching and trophy hunting kills of White-Tailed Deer left unharvested in the forests to identify a deer taken simply to remove the antlered. Good thing: at least the wolves are recycling the carcass.

Hmmm. I’ve been in the woods a lot and never found one like this. Maybe Jim got permission from Fish & Game to put this one in a prime spot for good photos, and the antlers were removed first. Think Positive!

  • They may respect the chain of command, I recall a video on what happened when the leader was too harsh and demanding. Thank you for sharing a moment of nature.

  • Thanks for the look into the hierarchy of wolves when they feed.

  • This is the pack that was slaughtered and scattered, yes?

    • Anonymous 3 years ago

yes I believe that is right. Very sad :-(

Can anyone tell me why and when they were slaughtered? Comments on other wolf videos have alluded to that but I never read anything about why.

I am not getting political here (just stating fact) but might it be the result of the current administration’s horrific environmental and wildlife policies?

      • The killing and scattering of the wolves seem to have happened before the current administration. I think these videos have happened at least eight years ago. Some people in MN (maybe farmers) view wolves as bad.

Another great view of the life in a wolf pack. Sharing …

  • Just love seeing the pack dynamics in action.

Thank you all again. I love wolves

  • Love the video, Mr, Brandenburg! It’s amazing to see how animals can respect the chain of command. Patience is such a virtue.

    There it is.

    Stunning how you captured this!

  • Wow!!! Message sent and message received!!!. And not one drop of blood was shed…..once again man could learn from these intelligent wolves.
