Such magnificent animals. So glad we didn’t exterminate all of them.
Thank you, Jim!
Fantastic, just think they once roamed the prairies free. They gave food, shelter, tools and warmth to native people. The whites soldiers killed off most of them and left them to rot where they fell.
I think almost all of Brandenburg’s work is in Canada.
I believe these are all filmed in MN.
Beautiful – wonderful to see them roaming free. Thank you.
Inhaling the immense beauty- working with tbe wonder of the deep knowledge in bison beings.
WOW!
Do they find any food in the winter?

Such a snow storm. Guess they are use to living with hardships….look at that warm coat protecting them. God takes care of his creatures.
These shaggy Bisons are provided with a coat that will withstand the blizzards and keep them insulated from the icy blasts of wind. Hope they find some sort of feed to keep them nourished as well. Beautiful scene and made me shiver as I viewed the snowy scene.
Jim, I would really like it if you listed the state where your video was taken each day. Are they all in MN?
Such majestic animals!!! Thank you
So few compared to days of old; magnificent creatures. Thank you for this scene. I hope our beautiful Bison will stand the test of time and mankind’s foolishness.
Majestic animals! Well done! Again!
Excelent work!!!
So beautiful
Respect pour ce majestueux animal !
Pouvoir les observer un jour, j’en rêve <3
Love to see the Bison. What a beautiful animal.
Aren’t they amazing? Thank you!
Is this from Blue Mound State Park? Not sure about the number or the terrain. Those are big beasts for sure!
Thank you.
Elvira, Stein!
wonderful. thanks
Thanks for facing the elements to share this vision, Jim. It’s solemn, deeply reassuring…
Thank you
Is this in Minnesota? I thought most of the videos were-I was just talking to someone about bison in Minnesota and we didn’t know if any were left-if so what part of the State? Thanks!
There’s a buffalo farm near Wadena has been there for over 30 years. About a 120 Buffalo, grew up next door to them
There are several large herds of bison in Minnesota. Guessing this one is down at the blue mounds state park by LuVerne Mn
There is also a smaller herd in Minneopa State Park by Mankato.
Thanks-I live way up north-almost the Canadian Border and we don’t have any around here-We are trying to see our home state-that area may have to be added to the bucket list. My Dad was born in that area.
There’s too many trees for it to be Blue Mounds. It might be Minneopa, but I’ve never been there so I wouldn’t know.
I’ve been to Minneopa in the summer. This could be Minneopa, going by the landscape, and herd’s size.
No this isn’t Minneopa. Perhaps Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota? Or Yellowstone NP in Wyoming?
Imagine 65 millions of them walking around. What an animal.
I just love their massive presence and beauty.
I wish I had the same fur coat to stay out in the snow storm with them.
Love those majestic bison

Magnificent! What a gift on this my birthday. A metaphor for all of us living in northern climes; we have our various personal adaptations for coping with winter’s challenges. I wonder if they, like us, think of spring?
Exquisite!

How different the seasons make this look. I remember the spring version of this. In a short time the verdant prairies will be green again.
Mighty animals!

How majestic. So glad we didn’t exterminate all the bison.
It’s kind of sad seeing so few bison on our plains. An author named J. Frank Dobie wrote stories about the way the West was in the 1700s. In his book “The Mustangs”, he recounts pioneers relating how the bison herds numbered “in the millions”. These people couldn’t continue their journey and were forced to camp out “for days” while waiting for the herds to pass so they could get their wagons through. Mr. Dobie estimates that maybe, at that time, there could have been as many as five million bison living on our open range.
Fabulous!
