After serving as a creative director for a Japanese ad agency, Soichi Hayashi became independent in photography business.
His photographic interest began early, influenced and nurtured by his father and grandfather – both professional photographers. Then for many years, Soichi has been privileged to work alongside the world’s finest photographers and videographers (including Jim Brandenburg) with their diverse backgrounds, infusing him with the ability to capture evocative imagery from both a creative and technical perspective. In recent years he has put more energy into filming, being attracted by its story-telling aspects.
Soichi is currently based in Tokyo, working around the clock for the demanding assignments. But he often escapes to nature where he can cleanse his soul and devote himself into some personal projects; from the fleeting beauty of cherry blossoms to Japan’s most iconic animals in eastern Hokkaido.
